The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 94:19: "When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought joy to my soul."
Let us pray. Spirit of God, success comes to the just and unjust, also failure and adversity. Enable us to see the reality of life as neither reward nor punishment. Grant faith, hope, and trust necessary to work through life's trials and triumphs. Move within us to accomplish Your work. Keep those in authority, our men and women in battle, in Your care. Hear our prayer, O God of Might. Amen.
