A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING JOSHUA DASILVA ATRIA OF IRMO, SOUTH CAROLINA FOR ACHIEVING THE ELITE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT, COMMEND HIM ON HIS HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE, AND WISHING HIM MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to recognize young people like Joshua Atria of Lexington County who selflessly give of their time, talents, and energy to better their local communities, the State, and ultimately our nation; and

Whereas, participating in the Boy Scouts of America requires dedication and a long-term commitment to community service; and

Whereas, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is a tremendous honor that very few scouts attain and is recognized as one of the most prestigious awards that a young man can earn; and

Whereas, Joshua's long and arduous path to Eagle Scout will be rewarded Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Capital City Lake Murray Country Visitors Center in Irmo, South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Joshua daSilva Atria for achieving the elite rank of Eagle Scout, and wish him much success in the future.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Joshua Atria.
