A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 7-13-760, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE TIME A VOTER HAS TO CAST A BALLOT, SO AS TO DELETE THE FIVE MINUTE LIMITATION A VOTER HAS TO CAST HIS BALLOT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 7-13-760 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 7-13-760.    No voter, while receiving, preparing and casting his ballot, shall occupy a booth or compartment for a longer time than five minutes. No A voter shall be is not allowed to occupy a booth or compartment already occupied by another, nor to speak or converse with anyone, except as herein provided in this section, while in the booth. After having voted, or declined or failed to vote within five minutes, the voter shall immediately shall withdraw from the voting place and shall may not enter the polling place again during the election."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
