Whereas, Herb met his beloved wife, Sue, at a fraternity function at the Waldorf-Astoria while he was a student at Duke University and she was a senior in high school in Manhattan; and
Whereas, being a case of love at first sight, Herb and Sue were married on January 29, 1950, in New York City; and
Whereas, over the course of their marriage the Kirshes have raised a loving family of four sons: Mike, Bruce, Kevin, and Larry; and
Whereas, with his beloved wife's continued support over the years, Representative Kirsh has represented the citizens of District 47 in the South Carolina House of Representatives since 1979; and
Whereas, both Representative and Mrs. Kirsh are loved and greatly appreciated by the citizens of their hometown of Clover; and
Whereas, the love of this well-known couple has certainly withstood the test of time as evidenced by their continued devotion to each other; and
Whereas, in Representative Kirsh's own words, he professes his enduring love and admiration for his lovely wife, he acknowledges she and he have had a tremendous life together over the past fifty-five years, he hopes and prays that they will be able to celebrate many, many more years of happy wedded life, and he also wants Sue to know that he loves her more and more every day and will continue to do so all the rest of his life; and
Whereas, it is the desire of the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives to join in the spirit of this happy occasion and express both their warmest congratulations and admiration to the happy couple on this momentous occasion and hope that their love will grow even stronger with every passing year. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
