A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM OF GREENVILLE ON ITS 2005 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP CROSS COUNTY TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND THEIR COACH, RODNEY ADAMEE, ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls Cross Country Team capped its impressive season by finishing first in the Class AA/A State Meet after finishing first in the Upstate Class AA/A qualifying meet out of fifteen teams; and

Whereas, the championship win and incredible season were possible only through the hard work and dedication of the players, coaches, and trainers; and

Whereas, the team got off to an amazing start, placing fourth of eleven teams in the Greenville County Meet and was the only Class A school participating; and

Whereas, the state championship was truly remarkable, as the team is comprised of only nine girls, two of whom are only in the eighth grade; and

Whereas, the entire team performed extraordinarily well in practice and in meets throughout the season, and were led by stand-outs Sally Stephenson, who was chosen as All-State, and Ashley Anderson, who was chosen as both All-County and All-State; and

Whereas, other members of the team include Emily Bridges, Cinthia Lehner, Alyssa Reichental, McKenzie Smith, Charlotte Van Hale, Ashley West, and Sarah Head; and

Whereas, the success celebrated by the team and the Christ Church School community is owed in large part to the tireless commitment and motivation offered by Coach Rodney Adamee; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pride in recognizing the young women of the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls Cross Country Team as outstanding athletes and veritable role models for all student athletes across the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Christ Church Episcopal School Girls Cross Country Team of Greenville on its 2005 State Championship Cross Country title and honor the players and their coach, Rodney Adamee, on an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Adamee.
