VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO PROVIDE FOR A MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS LANDFILLS UNTIL NEW REGULATIONS CONTROLLING THE LANDFILLS HAVE BEEN PROMULGATED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL AND THE REGULATIONS BECOME EFFECTIVE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. There is established a moratorium on the issuance of permits for construction, demolition, and land-clearing debris landfills by the Department of Health and Environmental Control. The moratorium shall remain in effect until new regulations promulgated buy the department regulating construction, demolition, and land-clearing debris landfills become effective.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor and also applies to pending permits on the effective date of this act.
