A BILL

TO AMEND ACT 340 OF 1967, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CREATION OF THE CHARLESTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE CHARLESTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT SHALL RECEIVE ANNUAL WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FROM A MUNICIPALITY BEFORE THE DISTRICT MAY PARK MORE THAN TWENTY-FIVE BUSES ON A PROPERTY THAT THE DISTRICT OWNS OR LEASES WITHIN THAT MUNICIPALITY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Act 340 of 1967, as last amended by Act 189 of 2005, is further amended by adding Section 5B to read:

"Section 5B.    The Charleston County School District shall receive annual written authorization from a municipality before the district may park more than twenty-five buses on a property that the district owns or leases within that municipality."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
