VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE DEATH OF MR. MILLARD SMITH, ANDERSON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR, AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mr. Millard Smith, Anderson County Board of Education administrator; and
Whereas, a man who genuinely loved Anderson and its children, Mr. Smith was the mainstay of the county board, and few people equaled his extensive knowledge of public school financing in Anderson County and across the State; and
Whereas, humbly putting others before himself, he was always willing to lend a hand and worked as a vocational education teacher before taking up his position with the county board in 1983; and
Whereas, in further commitment to his community and county, Mr. Smith worked actively with his church and the Greater Anderson Rotary Club; and
Whereas, more than an able administrator of high integrity, Millard Smith will long be remembered for the personable way he listened to and respected all, as well as for his great compassion and dedication. He will be missed not only by his beloved family but also by many others who held him in great affection and appreciated the fine man he was. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express the profound sorrow of the House of Representatives upon the death of Mr. Millard Smith, Anderson County Board of Education administrator, and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Millard Smith.
