A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR SUSAN A. MONTGOMERY, OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, FOR TWENTY-TWO YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to learn that on March 31, 2008, Susan A. Montgomery will have served the citizens of South Carolina for twenty-two years and that she plans to enjoy her retirement beginning on April 1, 2008; and

Whereas, serving from 1986 to 2008, Susan Montgomery began a career in state government with the South Carolina Department of Youth Services, which later became the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, and then served in the Office of the Governor; and

Whereas, she worked with the South Carolina Department of Corrections from 1996 to 2008; and

Whereas, in her twelve years with the South Carolina Department of Corrections, she has served as an administrative assistant in the Division of Public Affairs and as the Governmental Services manager; and

Whereas, she has exhibited endurance and patience and has been diligent in the day-to-day requirements of her job and maintained a calm and pleasant disposition; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly appreciate the twenty-two years of service Susan A. Montgomery has given to the citizens of South Carolina, and wish her all that she anticipates in her much-deserved retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Susan A. Montgomery, of the South Carolina Department of Corrections, for twenty-two years of faithful service to the citizens of South Carolina, and wish her much success in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Susan A. Montgomery.
