A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE LAURA GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, OF MCCORMICK COUNTY, UPON THE OCCASION OF THE DEDICATION OF ITS NEW CHURCH BUILDING ON SUNDAY, MAY 18, 2008.

Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to note that Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church, of McCormick County, will dedicate its new church building on Sunday, May 18, 2008; and

Whereas, since its establishment in 1911, Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church has grown from humble beginnings as a Clarks Hill brush-harbor church to the congregation of wide ministry it is today; and

Whereas, led by present Senior Pastor Paul H. Bush and his vision for expanded ministry beyond the walls of the church, the congregation has brought to fruition the construction of its newest building, to be "dedicated to God for worship and service to humanity"; and

Whereas, the new facility will allow the church to provide, among other offerings, GED programs; AA, mentor, and parenting classes; health and wellness education; and youth, senior, and community-outreach programs; and

Whereas, grateful for its almost century-long service to the Clarks Hill community, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in congratulating Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church on the dedication of its new sanctuary, and the members wish the congregation many more years of blessing in ministry. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church, of McCormick County, upon the occasion of the dedication of its new church building on Sunday, May 18, 2008.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Reverend Paul H. Bush on behalf of the congregation of Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
