VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE RICHARD WINN ACADEMY GOLF TEAM, OF WINNSBORO, FOR CAPTURING THE 2008 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, the Richard Winn Academy golf team, of Winnsboro, crowned its season by capturing the 2008 South Carolina Independent School Association Class AA State Championship title, riding to the state championship match fresh from carrying off the Region VII Class AA championship title; and
Whereas, having also grabbed the state title in 2007, the team members achieved their 2008 victory by once again exhibiting teamwork, dedication, tenacity, and skill, without which no group of athletes can hope to excel; and
Whereas, in a clear demonstration of these talents and attributes at the playoffs, Coach Kenny Atkerson and Coach Mark Chapman gave indisputable evidence that championship preparation pays off in championship wins; and
Whereas, adding luster to an already shining 26-2 season, Brandon Truesdale was named SCISA Class AA Player of the Year; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives take great pleasure in recognizing the noteworthy achievements of such exceptionally talented young athletes as those of the Richard Winn Academy golf team and look for more stellar performances in the future. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Richard Winn Academy golf team, of Winnsboro, for capturing the 2008 South Carolina Independent School Association Class AA State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Head of School Christopher Thoma, Coach Kenny Atkerson, and Coach Mark Chapman, of Richard Winn Academy.
