A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR REBECCA W. ELEAZER, OF RICHLAND COUNTY, FOR HER THIRTY-FOUR YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA EMPLOYMENT SECURITY COMMISSION, ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the thirty-four years that Rebecca W. Eleazer has served the citizens of South Carolina during her tenure with the Employment Security Commission; and

Whereas, after she earned a bachelor's degree from South Carolina State University, she began working for the Employment Security Commission at a time when the states selected their own survey samples and produced area and state estimates; and

Whereas, in 1984, Rebecca Eleazer was promoted to an Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) supervisor and became highly regarded by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Labor Market Information communities; and

Whereas, the longest serving OES supervisor in the United States, she served with distinction on numerous OES related groups at the national level; and

Whereas, under the supervision of Rebecca Eleazer, the state's OES program was instrumental and proactive in testing projects and program enhancements including as the SPAM processing system, two panel collection, and the management placement test; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to acknowledge Rebecca W. Eleazer's distinguished career with the Employment Security Commission and recognize her retirement after thirty-four years of service to this great State on March 31, 2008, and wish her health and happiness in her much deserved retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Rebecca W. Eleazer, of Richland County, for her thirty-four years of service to the South Carolina Employment Security Commission, on the occasion of her retirement and wish her much success in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Rebecca W. Eleazer.
