VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND LUCILLE O'NEAL FOR HER LOVING COMMITMENT TO HER FAMILY, FAITH, AND COMMUNITY, AND FOR VISITING WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY TO ADDRESS THE KINGSTREE DISTRICT AME CHURCH SCHOOL CONVENTION.
Whereas, on June 22, 2007, the Palmetto State will be deeply honored by a visit from Lucille O'Neal, who is scheduled to address the Kingstree District AME Church School Convention, where she will speak to youth from Berkley, Charleston, Florence, Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties; and
Whereas, a loving and devoted mother of four, including basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, and doting grandmother of eleven, Lucille O'Neal exudes positive energy and quiet strength, serving as a constant reminder of God's love; and
Whereas, in addition to being a devoted matriarch and spiritual role-model to her family, keeping them grounded regardless of the successes they achieve, Lucille O'Neal also maintains an active life of community service, including involvement with the Orlando Chapter of the United Negro College Fund, Reading is Fundamental, Scholastic America, the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Orlando, the National Education Association, the Florida Hospital Gala and Celebrity Stroll, the Trey Whitfield Foundation Scholarship Fund, the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Orlando, and service as president of My Sister/My Friend, Inc. and a southeastern director of The Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund, which the O'Neal family established to raise funds for education needs and nursing scholarships in memory of Lucille's mother. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and commend Lucille O'Neal for her loving commitment to her family, faith, and community, and for visiting Williamsburg County to address the Kingstree District AME Church School Convention.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Lucille O'Neal.
