The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Proverbs 3:5: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight."
Let us pray. Guide us, O Lord, so that we do not lose our way. Provide these Representatives with hope and trust, that whatever they do in Your name, guided by Your spirit, will come to fruition. Keep these men and women in Your loving care. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff and all who serve in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Heal the wounds of our brave warriors, those seen and those unseen. Hear us, O Lord, as we pray. Amen.
