The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 16:9: "Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure."
Let us pray. God of all time, bless our work today so that our labor might not be in vain. Rather, allow our labors to advance our State and improve the lives of all our people. Thank You for our work and our time together, and for producing positive results. Protect us through the weekend and refresh us for continued service to You and to this State. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Heal the wounds of our brave warriors, those seen and those unseen. Hear us, O Lord. Amen.
