The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Jeremiah 33:3: "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things."
Let us pray. Holy and faithful God, as You have called us to be faithful servants to do the work for those in leadership, establish for us the needed tools to do what is required. Give us a restful weekend and refresh us for continued service. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.
