To whom was referred a Senate Resolution (S. 1058) to proclaim Tuesday, March 22, 2016, as "SC Professional Land Surveyors Day" in South Carolina and to recognize the importance of the services provided, etc., respectfully
Has polled the Senate Resolution out majority favorable.
TO PROCLAIM TUESDAY, MARCH 22, 2016, AS "SC PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS DAY" IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND TO RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THIS GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS.
Whereas, land surveying is a science requiring great precision and responsibility in determining exact measurements to define boundaries and distances; and
Whereas, professional land surveyors give shape to our transportation routes, water systems, and communities while creating permanent records of land ownership for future generations; and
Whereas, the people of the Palmetto State depend on the technical expertise and professional ethics of land surveyors to protect their interests when engaging in land transactions; and
Whereas, the 2016 observation of National Surveyors Week, March 20-26, 2016, provides an opportunity to recognize the land surveying profession as a vital part of South Carolina's economy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, proclaim March 22, 2016, as "SC Professional Land Surveyors Day" in South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Allison King, Executive Director of the South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
