A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF DULAH MAE MARTIN OF HORRY COUNTY AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY AND HER MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Dulah Mae Martin from Aynor at the age of eighty-five on Sunday, April 5, 2015; and

Whereas, born in Horry County, Dulah Mae Martin was a daughter of the late Tolar and Dulah Barnhill Strickland, and she enjoyed the love and devotion of six siblings; and

Whereas, together with her beloved husband, the late Hubert Wesley Martin, Sr., she reared nine fine children: Regina Shannon, Wendy Martin Hardee, Bo Martin, Jerry Martin, and J. T. Martin all of Aynor; Mary Ann Gordon of Thomasville, North Carolina; Wayne Martin of Aynor/Columbia; Shorty Martin of the home; and Bruce Martin of Conway; and

Whereas, Mrs. Martin was blessed with the tender affection of twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren, as well as two nephews she helped to raise, Andy and Randy Strickland; and

Whereas, a loving and devoted mother and Nana, Mrs. Martin enjoyed spending time with her family and working with her flowers; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the life and legacy of Dulah Mae Martin and for the example of love and kindness she set for all who knew her. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Dulah Mae Martin of Horry County and extend their deepest sympathy to her large and loving family and her many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to the family of Dulah Mae Martin.
