VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE AND COMMEND THE LEXINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION ON THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF ASSISTING MANY DESERVING YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH SPONSORSHIP OF THE NOAH KNEECE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, AWARDED ANNUALLY TO STUDENTS AT PELION HIGH SCHOOL.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to note that the Lexington School District One Educational Foundation sponsors the Noah Kneece Memorial Scholarship, which has been awarded to students at Pelion High School for the past thirty-five years for the furtherance of their education; and
Whereas, the scholarship is named for the late Noah Kneece, the highly respected founder of Lexington County's Kneece Farms, which has earned numerous recognitions for its commitment to protecting and improving natural resources; and
Whereas, carrying an award of five hundred to one thousand dollars, the scholarship memorializes its honoree through the Pelion Young Farmer Chapter of the Future Farmers of America; and
Whereas, Mr. Frank Stover of the Pelion High School Agricultural Department, who established the scholarship and is in charge of it for the school, is to be commended for his significant part in the scholarship's creation and ongoing management; and
Whereas, appreciative of the Lexington School District One Educational Foundation's long sponsorship of the Noah Kneece Memorial Scholarship, the House extends grateful thanks to the Foundation and its supporters. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate and commend the Lexington School District One Educational Foundation on thirty-five years of assisting many deserving young people through sponsorship of the Noah Kneece Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to students at Pelion High School.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Lexington School District One Educational Foundation.
