"Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me." (Psalm 51:11)
Bow in prayer with me, if you will:
Glorious and Everfaithful God, we pray this day that Your very real presence will be always experienced by those who gather here in this Senate Chamber, as well as out under the Dome, in the Senate office building, the meeting rooms, even the hallways. Be ever present with these Senators and their staff members and bestow Your blessings, Lord: granting vision and genuine hopefulness, bestowing courage to do what is right and just, and inspiring these servants as You alone can. May the power of Your presence, O God, bring great benefit to this State we love. We pray this in Your wondrous name, dear Lord. Amen.
