VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 22-8-40 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO MAGISTRATE SALARIES, TO PROVIDE THAT A MAGISTRATE WHO IS LICENSED AND IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE SOUTH CAROLINA BAR SHALL HAVE TEN PERCENT ADDED TO HIS SALARY AS DETERMINED IN SUBSECTION (B).
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 22-8-40 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding an appropriately lettered new subsection to read:
"( ) A magistrate who is licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar shall have ten percent added to his salary as determined in subsection (B)."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
