VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO PROVIDE THAT A REGISTERED ELECTOR WHO CASTS A BALLOT IN A PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY OF A CERTIFIED POLITICAL PARTY MAY CAST A FUTURE BALLOT IN THE PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY OF ONLY THAT CERTIFIED POLITICAL PARTY, AND TO PROVIDE A SUNSET PROVISION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a registered elector who casts a ballot in a presidential preference primary of a certified political party may cast a future ballot in the presidential preference primary of only that certified political party.
SECTION 2. The provisions of this act are repealed on December 31, 2024.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
