A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-29-45 SO AS TO REQUIRE VACCINE ADMINISTRATORS TO OBTAIN WRITTEN INFORMED CONSENT BEFORE ADMINISTERING A COVID-19 VACCINATION TO A PERSON; AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF RELATED FUNDING.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 29, Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

    "Section 44-29-45.    Any COVID-19 vaccination administrator in the State of South Carolina must obtain written informed consent before administering a COVID-19 vaccination to a person. The department shall develop a template to be used statewide by COVID-19 vaccination administrators when obtaining written informed consent that lists all potential side effects and contraindications of a COVID-19 vaccination. The General Assembly shall appropriate fifty thousand dollars to the department for the costs associated with developing and distributing the template."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
