A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND THE HONORABLE V. STEPHEN "STEVE" MOSS FOR HIS COMMITTED SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE CITIZENS OF DISTRICT 30 IN CHEROKEE AND YORK COUNTIES AND TO WISH HIM SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, for thirteen years, the Honorable V. Stephen "Steve" Moss has represented the citizens of House District 30 in Cherokee and York counties with integrity in the House of Representatives of this great State; and

Whereas, born the son of Winfred V. and Frances M. Moss, this native and current resident of Cherokee County is a retired banker. In preparation for his career, Steve earned his bachelor's degree at Clemson University (1972), followed by graduation from the South Carolina School of Banking (1976) and the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University (1984); and

Whereas, during his years in the House of Representatives (2009 to the present), Steve Moss has used his experience for the benefit of his constituents and other citizens of our State as a member of various committees, most recently the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee, which he serves as first vice chairman; and

Whereas, prior to taking up his duties as a South Carolina House member, he served his community on the Cherokee County School Board; and

Whereas, in his community and beyond, Representative Moss also has served in the past with the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce (former president), Gaffney Rotary Club (former president), Cherokee County Recreation District (former chairman), Cherokee County Community Foundation Board, and South Carolina Bankers Association Board; and

Whereas, further, in recognition of his legislative support of South Carolina's firefighters, the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association inducted Representative Moss into the Society of the Maltese Cross in 2018; and

Whereas, in serving the people of South Carolina, Steve Moss finds strong support in his lovely wife, Cheryl, and their three charming daughters, Elizabeth, Jessica, and Emily; and

Whereas, on the occasion of his departure from the House of Representatives, his House colleagues, grateful for Steve Moss's dedicated service to this State, extend sincere best wishes for much happiness in the days to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend the Honorable V. Stephen "Steve" Moss for his committed service to the South Carolina House of Representatives and the citizens of District 30 in Cherokee and York counties and wish him success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to our distinguished colleague, the Honorable V. Stephen "Steve" Moss.
