S. 431
S. Printed 4/29/21--H.
Read the first time March 2, 2021.
To whom was referred a Bill (S. 431) to amend Section 44-21-80(a) of the 1976 Code, relating to Regional Tertiary Level Developmental Evaluation Centers, to update, etc., respectfully
That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:
LEON HOWARD for Committee.
Explanation of Fiscal Impact
State Expenditure
This bill amends Section 44-21-80 to reflect the name changes of the health systems in which the three DEC's provide services in Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville. The DEC's provide developmental assessment and treatment services for children with development disabilities, significant developmental delays, or behavioral or learning disorders. The DEC's in Greenville and Columbia, formerly part of the Greenville Health System and USC Medical Group, respectively, are now part of the Prisma Health System. The DEC name change in Charleston reflects a previous internal restructuring of clinical services at MUSC. This bill does not affect the responsibilities or operations of MUSC or DDSN, and therefore, will not have a fiscal impact on these agencies.
Frank A. Rainwater, Executive Director
