A house RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE HANNAH MILLER UPON BEING NAMED THE 2024 CITY OF GOOSE CREEK RECREATION DEPARTMENT FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AND 2024 CITY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR, TO THANK HER FOR HER DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Hannah Miller has been selected as the 2024 City of Goose Creek Recreation Department Full-Time Employee of the Year and 2024 City Employee of the Year; and

 

Whereas, Hannah joined her team in January 2022 as Therapeutic Recreation coordinator and has since expanded her role and responsibilities in the department as manager at Central Creek Park; and

 

Whereas, under her leadership, the Therapeutic Recreation Division is a place where participants and families thrive. This year she worked with the Human Resources director to create the WE ALL RISE Employment Program, which provides job experience and creates employment opportunities for those living with a disability. Hannah traveled to Columbia to present her program to the Municipal Association of South Carolina to inspire other cities, and she is looking forward to expanding in Goose Creek; and

 

Whereas, Hannah always challenges her colleagues and associates to maximize the potential of the Therapeutic Recreation Division, an effort that has assisted the program to grow into one of the largest in the State and which provides unmatched experiences for the division's participants; and

 

Whereas, further, Central Creek Park continues to be a source of pride for the community, with much of its success being attributed to Hannah's dedication to Goose Creek and its citizens. This year's addition of the Farmers Market has created a new space for families to gather and engage while supporting local businesses. Many vendors have called the Central Creek Farmers Market the most joyful market in the Lowcountry; such praise is a direct reflection of how Hannah treats everyone at the park; and

 

Whereas, although her focus is Central Creek Park and Therapeutics, she has taken on other roles supporting marketing efforts and assisting with social media accounts. She also serves on the city's safety committee as her department's representative. Hannah is the definition of a team player as she can be seen helping every division from Maintenance to Athletics to Special Events; and

 

Whereas, an enthusiastic ambassador for Goose Creek, Hannah passionately advocates not just for the disability community but for all residents; and

 

Whereas, it is entirely appropriate to celebrate Hannah Miller, recipient of the 2024 City of Goose Creek Recreation Department Full-Time Employee of the Year award and 2024 City Employee of the Year award, for her actions serve as an example of the positive impact one person can have on a community. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Hannah Miller upon being named the 2024 City of Goose Creek Recreation Department Full-Time Employee of the Year and 2024 City Employee of the Year, thank her for her dedicated service, and wish her continued success in the years to come.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Hannah Miller.
