TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL, RELATING TO AIR POLLUTION CONTROL STANDARDS, STANDARD NO. 8, TOXIC AIR POLLUTANTS (ADDITIONAL CHEMICALS), DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1336, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Health and Environmental Control, relating to Air Pollution Control Standards, Standard No. 8, Toxic Air Pollutants (Additional Chemicals), designated as Regulation Document Number 1336, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
In September, 1990, proposed Regulation 61-62.5, Standard No. 8, Toxic Air Pollutants (Document No. 1266) was filed for Legislative review. As the result of the public hearing on this standard the Board of Health and Environmental Control recommended an additional amendment process to consider additions to the list of chemicals regulated by this standard. Regulation 61-62.5, Standard No. 8,II,B, which is presently pending before the Legislature, is being amended by adding additional chemicals, and appropriate footnotes, to Category I, Category II and Category III.
