TO AMEND SECTION 38-43-106, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR INSURANCE AGENTS AND EXEMPTIONS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT NO FEE PROVIDED FOR IN THIS SECTION OR BY ANY REGULATION PROMULGATED UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL BE CHARGED TO, IMPOSED UPON, OR COLLECTED FROM OR ON BEHALF OF ANY PERSON EXEMPTED FROM THE CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 38-43-106 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 141 of 1991 and as amended by Section 661 of Act 181 of 1993, and by Acts 374 and 399 of 1994, is further amended by adding:
"(J) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no fee provided for in this section or provided for by any regulation promulgated pursuant to the authority of this section shall be charged to, imposed upon, or collected from or on behalf of any person exempted from the continuing insurance education requirements imposed by this section."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon the end of the existing contract.
