TO EXPRESS TO THE PEOPLE OF OUR SISTER STATE OF OKLAHOMA THE HEARTFELT SYMPATHY OF THE PEOPLE OF SOUTH CAROLINA OVER THE TRAGIC LOSS OF LIFE AND TO OFFER OUR PRAYERS AND CONDOLENCES.
Whereas, on Wednesday, April 19, 1995 the people of Oklahoma became victims of the deadliest terrorist attack in the history of the United States; and
Whereas, the toll in the loss of loved ones and human suffering is yet a staggering and horrible unknown; and
Whereas, the people of South Carolina wish for all of the citizens of our sister state of Oklahoma to know by these presentments that we deplore and condemn this senseless and despicable act; and
Whereas, our hearts go out to all who have suffered in this tragedy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the South Carolina General Assembly, on behalf of the people of South Carolina, convey our heartfelt sympathy and offer up our sincere prayers for the many who suffered from this tragedy.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to His Excellency, the Honorable Frank Keating, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, the Honorable Mary Fallin, President of the Senate, and the Honorable Glen Johnson, Speaker of the House.
