The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Representative J.R. SMITH as follows:
Our thought for today is from Isaiah 28:12: "To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing; yet they would not hear."
Let us pray. I believe today is a day of refreshing, refreshing because of Your great love and hope. A day of refreshing because of our colleagues, who work and labor with us, brought together from all parts of the State of South Carolina. We work to make this State a State filled with hope, filled with hope for the future, full of expectations for our children, our friends, and our neighbors. Let us pray for our Speaker, Governor, Nation, and President, but most of all, we pray for each of us as we go about our daily activities. Let us keep in mind, we are all important in the eyes of our Creator. Amen.
