To whom was referred a Bill (H. 4243) to amend Section 7-27-365, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the registration and elections commission for Lexington County, so as to increase, etc., respectfully
That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

TO AMEND SECTION 7-27-365, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION AND ELECTIONS COMMISSION FOR LEXINGTON COUNTY, SO AS TO INCREASE THE COMMISSION'S MEMBERSHIP FROM NINE TO ELEVEN MEMBERS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 7-27-365(A) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 189 of 2010, is further amended to read:
"(A) There is created the Registration and Elections Commission for Lexington County. There must be nine eleven members of the commission who must be appointed by a majority of the Lexington County Legislative Delegation, including the resident Senators, who must be appointed for terms of four years and until their successors are appointed and qualify. A vacancy on the commission may be filled by appointment in the manner of original appointment for the unexpired term only. The members of the commission receive compensation as may be appropriated by the county council."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
