The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Deuteronomy 13:4: "The Lord your God you shall follow, him alone you shall fear, his commandments you shall keep, his voice you shall obey, him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast."
Let us pray. God of peace that passes all human understanding, come into our hearts this day. Fill us with a sense of Your joyful presence as we move through the day. Help us feel the deep caring and love You have for us. Rekindle in us the desire to serve the people of this State. Look in favor upon all our leaders, our Nation, our State, and this Assembly. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Heal the wounds of our brave warriors, those seen and unseen. Hear our prayer, O Lord. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
