A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 12-28-2740, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE GASOLINE USER FEES AMONG COUNTIES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE MUST PROVIDE AN ANNUAL ACCOUNTING OF FUNDS THAT IT RECEIVES TO ITS LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 12-28-2740 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 215 of 2004, is further amended by adding an appropriately lettered subsection to read:

"( )    A county transportation committee must provide an annual accounting of funds that it receives to its legislative delegation that contains:

(1)    the total funds that it received during the reporting period;

(2)    a list of projects that it has approved for funding and the status of each project that contains:

(a)    the amount of funds budgeted for each project;

(b)    the amount of funds expended; and

(c)    the anticipated completion date for each project;

(3)    a list of the remaining projects on the county transportation committees priority list; and

(4)    a list of projects requested and not approved."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
