/ (7) Within seven business days following the dispensing of a biological product, the dispensing pharmacist or the pharmacist's designee shall make an entry of the specific biological product provided to the patient, including the name of the biological product and the manufacturer. The communication must be conveyed by making an entry that is electronically accessible to the prescriber through: (i) an interoperable electronic medical records system; (ii) an electronic prescribing technology; (iii) a pharmacy benefit management system; or (iv) a pharmacy record. Entry into an electronic records system as described in this section is presumed to provide notice to the prescriber. Otherwise, the pharmacist shall communicate the biological product dispensed to the prescriber using facsimile, telephone, electronic transmission, or other prevailing means, provided that communication is not required when:
(a) there is no federal Food and Drug Administration approved interchangeable biological product for the product prescribed; or
(b) a refill prescription is not changed from the product dispensed on the prior filling of the prescription; or
(c) a biological product is dispensed for inpatient hospital services or is a hospital-administered biological product for outpatients.
The communication by the dispensing pharmacist or the pharmacist's designee must be monitored by the pharmacist in charge."/

"(H) Notwithstanding another provision of law, a student who met the initial eligibility requirements to receive a Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Award as a senior in high school and has met the continuing eligibility requirements shall receive the award. A student selected as a Palmetto Fellow may elect to defer post-secondary enrollment for one year, until the fall term of the year immediately following the year of graduation, without declining the award. A student who received a Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Award as a senior in high school but declined the award is eligible to reapply for the annual scholarship, providing he meets all of the initial and continuing academic eligibility requirements of the Palmetto Fellows program, if he transfers to a qualifying an eligible South Carolina institution of higher learning. The number of semesters or academic years a student attended an out-of-state institution are to be deducted from the number of semesters or academic years a student is eligible for the scholarship. All funding provided for Palmetto Fellows Scholarships regardless of its source or allocation must be used to implement the provisions of this subsection."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval of the Governor. /

Smith and Ridgeway: A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 38-71-120 SO AS TO ESTABLISH THAT AN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY PROVIDING COVERAGE FOR CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS MUST PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT FOR A TWELVE-MONTH REFILL OF CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS OBTAINED AT ONE TIME; AND BY ADDING SECTION 44-6-120 SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR ALL MEDICAID PROGRAMS OFFERED THROUGH MANAGED CARE PLANS OR FEE-FOR-SERVICE PROGRAMS TO REQUIRE THE DISPENSING OF CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS WITH A TWELVE-MONTH SUPPLY PROVIDED AT ONE TIME.
