AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 59-30-15, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO TESTING ARRANGEMENTS ON THE EXIT EXAMINATION FOR STUDENTS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT STUDENTS WITH DYSCALCULIA, AND WITH OTHER DOCUMENTED LEARNING DISABILITIES IN MATHEMATICS AS STIPULATED BY GUIDELINES OR REGULATION OF THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION, MAY USE A CALCULATOR ON THE MATH PORTIONS OF THE EXIT EXAMINATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Use of calculator
SECTION 1. Section 59-30-15 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"(G) Students with dyscalculia, and with other documented learning disabilities in mathematics as stipulated by guidelines or regulation of the State Board of Education, may use a calculator on the math portions of the exit examination."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
