TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO SCHOOL YEAR (REPEAL), DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1933, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to school year (repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 1933, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
This regulation allows districts to report early dismissals for emergencies to the State Department of Education and, if justifiable, districts will not be required to make up time missed. Districts must still make up full days. We propose that this regulation be repealed in its entirety because its wording is identical or very similar to a current state statute. This regulation is not necessary.
