TO CONGRATULATE THE LEXINGTON GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE CLASS AAAA GIRLS STATE SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were very pleased to learn that the Lexington girls softball team won the Class AAAA state softball championship with a 2-1 win over a fine Lancaster team; and
Whereas, this represents the second state softball championship for the Lexington girls in the past three years; and
Whereas, the Wildcats finished the season with a 33-3 won-loss record which is an amazing accomplishment given the fact that there are just two seniors on the team; and
Whereas, under the fine leadership of Coach Scott Jumper, the lady Wildcats continued their fine tradition of excellence in softball, and with such a young team the prospects for a state championship next year are excellent; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this amazing group of athletes, their coach, and staff for winning the state championship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate the Lexington girls softball team for winning the Class AAAA girls state softball championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Scott Jumper and the principal of Lexington High School.
