AN ACT TO ESTABLISH AND REAPPORTION ELECTION DISTRICTS IN WHICH FIVE OF THE SEVEN TRUSTEES OF THE CLOVER SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 OF YORK COUNTY ARE REQUIRED TO RESIDE AND PROVIDE A SCHEDULE FOR THE ELECTION OF TRUSTEES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Election districts reapportioned
SECTION 1. (A) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning with the elections conducted in 2002, the five election districts in which five of the seven members of the Board of Trustees of Clover School District No. 2 of York County are required to reside are established and delineated on map number S-91-02-02 created and maintained by the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board.
(B) The Board of Trustees of Clover School District No. 2 of York County is composed of seven members elected at large by the qualified electors of the school district with five members required to reside in the five election districts delineated in subsection (A) of this section and two members elected from the school district without regard to residency.
(C) The trustees representing election districts 1, 2, and 5 must be elected at the time of the general election of 2002, and the trustees representing election districts 3 and 4 must be elected at the time of the general election of 2004. The two at-large members must be elected as provided by law.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
