STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED FISCAL IMPACT

Fiscal Impact Summary

This bill would have no expenditure impact to the general fund, federal funds, or other funds.

Explanation of Fiscal Impact

State Expenditure

This bill reauthorizes the South Carolina First Steps to School Readiness until July 1, 2021, and will automatically be reauthorized for five-year periods at five-year intervals thereafter.

The State Department of Education will have no expenditure impact to the general fund, federal funds, or other funds.

A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-152-15 SO AS TO PROVIDE THE SOUTH CAROLINA FIRST STEPS TO SCHOOL READINESS IS REAUTHORIZED UNTIL JULY 1, 2021, AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE REAUTHORIZED FOR FIVE-YEAR PERIODS AT FIVE-YEAR INTERVALS THEREAFTER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 152, Title 59 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 59-152-15.    The South Carolina First Steps to School Readiness is reauthorized until July 1, 2018."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
