The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 147:10-11: "His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the speed of a runner; but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love."
Let us pray. We give thanks to You, heavenly Father, for the many blessings that You graciously bestow upon us. May we all be accountable today for acts of kindness shown to those in need. Grant these Representatives and Staff the courage and wisdom to do the work of the people. Sustain our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear our prayer, O Lord. Amen.
