The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 119:76: "Let your steadfast love become my comfort according to your promise to your servant."

Let us pray. Our Gracious Lord, You have sometimes seen us hurting by the side of the road, and You tenderly cared for us. We give You thanks for this great gift of love and healing. Guard, guide, and keep these Representatives and staff in their work here and at home with their families. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.
