The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Daniel 12:20: "Daniel said, 'Blessed be the name of God from age to age, for wisdom and power are His'."

Let us pray. Almighty God, give these Representatives and staff courage to trust in You and put our faith in action for the well-being of the people of South Carolina. Give them strength, courage, wisdom and integrity as they carry out their duties and responsibilities. Bless them and their families as they do the work of this State. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who carry on the duties required of them. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of those who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
