South Carolina General Assembly
120th Session, 2013-2014
Journal of the House of Representatives

Tuesday, January 29, 2013
(Statewide Session)

Indicates New Matter

The House assembled at 12:00 noon.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Jeremiah 31:33: "But this the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days says the Lord; I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."
Let us pray. Dear God, thank You for the words You have written upon our heart. With these words, guide, inspire, and give wisdom and integrity to these Representatives as they discern the ways and means of doing their work. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, and staff, as they strive to lead in these unsettled days. Protect our defenders of freedom, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of Friday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
